The Banyo and the Kora by Zaneen Design are fixtures that straddle multiple product categories due to their ability to exist as a suspended pendant, a portable lamp or a surface luminaire, but the really interesting thing about these products, is that they their hand-made braided cord is made from plastic bottles, some of which are collected from the sea. This is part of a sustainability effort called "Oceans Without Plastic" with the goal of reducing the amount of plastic material in our environment and incorporating it into products that will have a long and useful life. Zaneen estimates that they will be able to remove 6.3 tons of plastic from our environment with their cord materials.

The Banyo and the Kora products are supported internally by a metal frame which is woven together with a continuous loop of braided cord and is available in a number of different vibrant and muted colors.
